Mother’s day will soon be approaching and whether you’re the planning type or the kind of person that likes to wait until the last minute, Amazon is always there.
I love shopping on Amazon because it’s such a great way to buy my gifts and keep them hidden in the house without snooping eyes spotting them. With those brown packages all stacked in a corner, my kids and husband are none the wiser.
Looking for Mothers Day gifts on Amazon is just as convenient, if not more so because you can have the gifts shipped directly to her and schedule a delivery date closest to the holiday! (Or whenever is most convenient).
How Much is Amazon Prime?
If you don’t have an Amazon Prime membership, you can always sign up right here and get a free 30-day trial. After that, it’s about $$$$ per year but it includes a lot of perks beyond free shipping that can help to make the cost more worthwhile.
If you’re a low income family you can get Amazon Prime for a discounted rate of $5.99 a month with proof of an EBT card. You can sign up for that right here.
You’ll still get the same access to Amazon and it’s perks as everyone else, but at a cheaper rate. This is just one of the low income benefits you can claim as an EBT user.
College students also get a great discounted rate too! Just show proof of being a student and your new prime membership rate will be applied. Not only that, but students get a 6 month free trial membership!
How to Get Free Shipping on Amazon Without Prime
The answer to this may be easy, but they’re also costly. So if you’re looking for Mother’s Day gifts on a budget, this isn’t it- but it does save you from buying a Prime membership.
While Amazon originally had a rule in place that non-members could receive free shipping with orders of $49+ that has since changed to $25. So now if you’d like to order items shipped to your door, all you have to do is buy a minimum of $25 worth of stuff and have it shipped!
The downside of not being an Amazon Prime member when you do this is that you are not guaranteed the same 2 day shipping that members are.
Instead, it will take about 6-8 days for your package to arrive on average, so make sure that you take this into consideration when buying your Mothers Day gifts on Amazon.
Top 10 Mothers Day Gift Ideas
After taking a lot of polls in mom groups and with several of my readers I have compiled a top 10 list of Mothers Day gifts for 2020. These are things that are actually wanted.
While not all of these will be frugal holiday gifts, you can still set aside a small sinking fund for the purpose of buying gifts without breaking your budget.
So take the guesswork out of gift giving, stop looking at outdated lists, and get straight to the items women actually want this year.
A Rose Gold Necklace
Rose gold is such a timeless and beautifully elegant color that it really doesn’t matter what the jewelry piece is, it’s almost always stunning. It’s such a trending color combination that even my 6 year old has to have things in rose gold when presented the opportunity.
This rose gold heart shaped necklace is a simple and beautiful piece that can be worn with anything.
2. A Small Hobby Kit
With our time so limited as mothers, we often find ourselves wishing we had a creative outlet where we could craft till our heart’s content. Unfortunately, larger projects are often left unfished for a lengthy period of time, so why not settle for a smaller hobby kit to occupy your time?
This Diamond Painting Kit is a beautiful piece of art and a fun project that could last a few hours or days depending on how determined she is to finish it.
3. A hair curler for those of us without time or talent
It can cost a fortune going to the salon for perfectly styled curled hair, and DIYing it at home can be difficult for many. Thankfully products like this help to make life a little easier.
This Unbound cordless hair curler is a great way to cut costs without sacrificing beauty.
4. A Soft Muslin Blanket for Adults
You know those soft and breathable swaddle blankets for babies? It’s exactly like that but for grown ups!
She’s going to love this large muslin breathable blanket! Pair it with a little indoor movie/date night package and you have yourself a cuddle date!
5. Double wall stainless steel wine tumbler
Momma needs her drink and warm drinks just won’t due. With Mothers day in May, it welcomes in the warmer summer months so a nice double wall stainless wine tumbler is perfect for using all summer long.
These tumblers come in a wider variety of colors so you can plan to buy her favorite!
6. Gel nail polish set
Getting your nails done at a parlor can cost a small fortune, and usually DIY nails can’t turn out as nice without the education and special tools. Thankfully in recent years, fake nails have gotten a major upgrade.
These gel nails are a great DIY project to enjoy with a stay at home movie or spa night! A glass of wine, a fun “craft” and a relaxing movie on the television sound like a great way to enjoy Mothers day inside.
7. Wall Rack for Coffee Mugs
If she loves coffee, tea, or simply being organized this wall rack set could be the perfect gift. So many women love having little “coffee bars” in their homes.
It’s a great piece of decor as well as a nice organization piece. Use it for practically anything, and with how it’s designed it could fit in well with many different styles and themes.
8. Weighted Blanket
Weighted blankets are the gift you didn’t know you needed. She’s going to love it!
Staying cuddled up in a warm blanket is one thing, but having a nice weighted blanket on top of you is a great way to get that restful and deep sleep.
9. Foot Massager with Heat and Compression
This Renpho foot massager has shiatsu, heat and compression features!
Every day can be a nice spa day, or she can relax her feet after a long day at work with this foot massager.
10. Cricut maker machine
So many women (and men) want a Circut maker machine, it’s a great side hustle for many, while others use it for their own personal reasons.
This Cricut Maker bundle is a great way to get started crafting with the machines, and figuring it out before investing in more expensive and “fancier” products to use with it.
Useful Gifts for Mom
Alright, for this category you really should know the person you’re buying for. While some women (like myself) would LOVE to receive a new vacuum or the shiny kitchen appliance I’ve been hinting at for years, not every woman wants to receive these items as a holiday-specific (or even as a birthday) gift.
So make sure you know whether or not they’d be okay with receiving the items before heading to checkout. This can save you both from a lot of anxiety, arguments, and tears.
1 An Instant Pot
Get the gift that keeps on giving with an Instant Pot that she can use for years!
Believe it or not, this was actually really highly requested by moms for Mothers day! With time being precious, and there being so many delicious Instant Pot recipes out there, it’s not hard to see why!
2 Air Fryer
Only second to Instant pots in the requests from moms was an Air Fryer. I personally don’t have one of these, but it is on my own want list!
Air Fryers are pretty nifty kitchen appliances that can be used to make a lot of tasty (and healthy) recipes. Great for a fitness loving mom or a mom just wanting to try something new in the kitchen.
3 A Bissell Crosswave
I didn’t know this vacuum cleaner existed until recently. A Bissell 255-4a cordless crosswave can do wet/dry vacuuming and be a mop.
It’s slim, lightweight takes up little space and is great for hard floors and area rugs! Probably the best thing for keeping hardwood floors clean if you have kids or pets running in and out all day.
4 Scented Jewelry Candle
This used to be my own gift of choice (technically still is because I’d still enjoy getting another).
A scented candle with jewelry inside is great because you get the beauty and scents from burning a romantic candle. Then out of nowhere, you get a ring, a necklace, or whatever type of jewelry you paid for.
For the candles with rings, some companies will have you input a ring size so you know it will fit. But most have the jewelry range from great looking costume jewelry to something worth appraising at a few hundred(or thousand) dollars.
5 KitchenAid Attachments
If she has a KitchenAid, she probably doesn’t have all of the KitchenAid attachments for it. Very few people actually do have all of them, mostly because of cost.
Getting KitchenAid attachments is a great way to inspire new recipes and fun in the kitchen. It’s also pretty exciting for the momma chef.
Gifts for the Mom Who Doesn’t Want Anything
How many times have you asked “what do you want?” and gotten a response like, “nothing” or “it doesn’t matter, I’m fine with anything.” I’ll be honest, I’ve given those responses a lot to my poor husband. No doubt making the gift purchasing that much more difficult.
But for picky women who won’t clarify what they want, or for the clueless gift buyer wanting to get their moms a unique Mother’s day gift, here are a few great suggestions.
1 Gift cards to places she wouldn’t normally treat herself too.
If you know her favorite store or restaurant, get her a gift card for it. If she normally doesn’t treat herself to new makeup or girls days, get her an Ulta Beauty gift card where she can go and spend money on herself.
Sometimes, we mommas spend so much time helping everyone else that we don’t take the time to take care of ourselves and often feel guilty spending money on ourselves when we know it could be used to spoil the husband, kids, or tossed into the budget.
If she’s not into makeup and you don’t know her favorite place to eat (or she’s the indecisive type) there are gift cards on amazon Called Happy Gift cards (look them up) they’re cool. They allow you to redeem at any of the listed locations, giving multiple choices!
2 Epsom salt bath soak
If you’re interested in sports you probably heard of hot Epsom salts can help relieve muscle pain. You may also just know this by simply paying attention in day to day life, who knows.
But Epsom salt bath soaks can come is a wide variety of scents to relax muscles and moods. Perfect for creating a little spa-like atmosphere in the tub.
3 Designer diaper bag
Does mom have a baby (or toddler)? A new designer diaper bag may not sound like the best idea, but believe it or not, a lot of moms actually requested this one!
It’s a great way to add a little luxury to your day and feel good when out and about. Plus, I’ve heard that luxury diaper bags tend to last a little longer (like through multiple babies) so it could be worth the investment.
4 Robotic automatic vacuum
Having a robotic vacuum was at the top of many lists and they didn’t care if it was a Roomba or an offbrand name so long as the job got done.
What I liked most about this one here is that it even pairs with Alexa. “Alexa, vacuum my house.” Sounds pretty good, eh? Now if only she could wash the dishes.
5 Personalized Family Wall Art
Having a DIY gift is always great, but unfortunately, we aren’t all crafty enough to make a personalized piece of wall art. This personalized gift from Amazon is just the thing.
It’s pretty rustic looking but also just modern enough that you could make it go great with a wide variety of home decor styles.
Also, as a side note- if you are crafty, I have a short tutorial for making a rustic piece of wall art (and it cost under $20) to make.
Don’t forget you can always just Give the Gift of a Prime Membership. So if Mom (or Grandma) doesn’t have their own account, you can buy one for them. Now they have access to Kindle books, 2 day shipping, Amazon video and more!
Amazon Gifts for Grandma
It’s Mother’s Day- you CAN’T Forget about Grandma! Without Your Grandmother you wouldn’t be here today and neither would your mom (funny how genetics work, right?)
When you have kids, giving gifts to Grandma is pretty easy with sentimental handmade crafts, handwritten cards and nice updated photos of the family. When you don’t have kids getting grandma the perfect gift is a little harder, but not impossible. Either way, these Amazon gift ideas for grandma will be appreciated.
1 A birthstone or child name necklace
What mother, or grandmother, wouldn’t appreciate a thoughtful and personalized gift like a name and birthstone necklace?
List the names of grandchildren or of grandma’s actual children. Either way, she’ll love it.
2 Warming slippers
Oh my gosh, I’m not even a grandmother and I would love these warming slippers. Poor circulation and cold feet come with old age, so these feet heating house shoes would definitely be appreciated!
What makes them better is that they work great for grandma whether she’s in her own house or in the community home.
3 Massage chair
Aches, pains, and sore muscles also come with getting older. A massage chair may not be the average gift to give, but it one that doesn’t cost as much as you think. Check out this massage chair and see for yourself.
Just keep in mind that Grandma may not want to leave the house when she sits down in this relaxing massage chair. In an in-home comfort item like this, who would?
4 Tea kettle
Tea kettles make for great gifts, especially if you pair it with some of grandma’s favorite teas and some biscuits.
This tea kettle has a nice handle grip so it’s a little easier for hands to grasp and manage too. Not to mention, it’s kind of retro looking, which is cool.
5 House cleaning service
Saving the best for last with something you may not have even known existed! You can order house cleaning services from Amazon!
It’s true, and it’s amazing (I actually didn’t know this existed until recently!) Every mother known to mankind has requested a clean house for Mother’s Day. Obviously, it’s even better when it’s not them that has to do it.
So, even if you’re a million miles away, you can purchase a home cleaning for grandma without ever lifting a finger. This can be a great way to help her out in a meaningful way. Especially if she’s more minimalistic and not wanting anything too frivolous.
So that’s it, that’s the end of my list! I hope you found some great and Meaningful Mothers Day Gifts on Amazon that fit within your budget!
